We are the St. Mary’s Eco Council Team! We work to ensure our friends across our school appreciate the natural world and act responsibly towards the environment. Each September, we elect a new team and come up with an agenda for the academic year ahead. Our Eco Council meets fortnightly with Miss Reece to discuss ways to reduce, recycle, and protect our environment. The eco council at St. Mary's works to achieve our eco action plan and raise awareness of green issues within the school.

Here are the roles and responsibilities of our eco council team;

To ensure our school is eco-friendly and prepares pupils to live with reflection of the environment.

To make sure each class has a platform to voice their opinions.

Complete regular litter pickers around our school and local area

Teachers others about the dangers of litter, ensuring litter posters are displayed around the school

Deliver assemblies to the school about matters arising related to caring for our planet

Plan eco events and competitions throughout the school year
