Working with Others

Gweithio gydag eraill

Here at St. Mary's we value our partner work with other agencies in order to offer the very best learning experiences for our pupils. We strongly believe that it takes a village to raise a child and therefore seek every opportunity to invite visitors into our school to give our pupils a wealth of learning experiences.

Welsh Water
Our very own Mrs Noyes delivered several assemblies and lessons across our school during her sabbatical with Welsh water. Each class also enjoyed a school trip to Welsh Water educational centre.

Gwent Music Service
Gwent Music Service have been delivering exciting music lessons across our school for several years. Our children have been involved in many different musical projects and have been taught how to play a variety of different instruments. Such projects include; violins, strings, drumming, samba, penny whistle and many more!

GEMS
We have built strong relationships with our GEM colleagues across the year and they regularly attend school to support our pupils who are new to English. GEMS also provide assemblies and lesson for our pupils about different cultures and nationalities.

Chepstow and Caldicot Lions
Chepstow and Caldicot Lion's are regular visitors of our school and they have supported such through funding schemes over the years. Each year we grasp the opportunity for our learners to be involved in Lion's educational projects.

HSBC Financial Lessons
HSBC education team visit our school on a annual basis to deliver money wise lessons across all year groups. Throughout these lessons our children develop important life long financial skills.

Chepstow Fire Service
Each year our local fire service within Chepstow deliver lessons to Year 2 and Year 5 pupils around fire safety. Of course, being able to sit in a real fire engine is always a highlight of their visit!

Monmouthshire Road Safety Team
With many of our pupils cycling and walking to school each day we feel it's important for our pupils to learn essential cycling safety rules. Year 1 children take part in regular pedestrian training lessons, Year 2 complete a safe scooting course and Year 6 complete cycling proficiency tests.

Litter Education Service
The Litter education team deliver assemblies and personalised lessons to our pupils centred around the effects of litter pollution. They support our teachings of how to be an ethically formed citizen who shows care and respect for our planet.

Dog's Trust Lessons

Dog's trust education department have visited us many times over the years. They provide engaging whole school assemblies and lessons centred around looking after and staying safe around dogs. With many of our families owning dogs we feel it is  important for our learners to understand how to safely handle a dog.
